Human Subjects Protection Course for Research Ethics Committee Members

Busitema University, Faculty of Science and Education in conjunction with the National Council for Science and Technology has organized a three-day training workshop for all appointed members of Busitema University Faculty of Science and Education Research Ethics Committee happening at TLT Hotel in Tororo. The workshop is running from Monday 26th to Wednesday 28th of June 2023. 

The objectives of the workshop are to improve the researcher’s and RECs’ adherence to good ethical practices; improve the quality of ethical review by the RECs; and improve the quality of research protocols submitted for REC review. By the end of the training, the trainees are expected to be mindful of the rights of human research participants and their communities. The workshop was officiated over by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Baker Kucel. For details see the workshop programme.
