This week (Monday 3 to Friday 7 July, 2023), Busitema University in collaboration with Oxford University, Strathmore University, Makerere University, University of Dar es Salaam and Technical University of Kenya has been developing training programmes in Power Systems Engineering. This is part of the activities under the Higher Education Partnerships in sub-Saharan Africa (HEP SSA) 22/24 in which Strathmore University in partnership with Oxford University, University of Dar es Salaam, Makerere University, Busitema University, Technical University of Kenya, KenGen, KeTraCo and KPLC won a grant worth £ 100,000 to implement “University Industry Partnership on Enhancing Power Sector Skilling in East Africa (UIPEP EA)”. The team has also identified key areas for strategic collaborations namely Green Hydrogen, E cooking & E mobility, and Water, Energy & Food nexus. Prof Malcolm McCulloch of Oxford University has been very pivotal in the entire engagement.
