Busitema University is a Public University established by Statutory Instrument No. 22, 2007 enacted by Parliament of Uganda on May 10, 2007. Busitema is a Multi Campus University located in Eastern Uganda.

Busitema University Vice-Chancellor and Members of Top Management, Deans of Faculties, and the Director, Graduate Studies, Research and Innovations held a blended inception meeting with nine (9) Science, Technology and Innovation- Office of the President (STI-OP) grant winners, 2023, including

Forum for African Women Educationalist (FAWE) Uganda Chapter has received a new frant from Mr. Forberg through Social initiatives to support 75 youth (70% female and 30% male students) from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and regions of Eastern and Northern Uganda for the academic year 2023-2024.

Busitema University, department of Electrical Engineering embarked on a 2-day Workshop that aimed at reviewing its current curriculum. The Workshop was held at Sports View Hotel in Kireka on the 20 th and 21 st June 2023 and it brought together academic staff in the department, staff from the office of the Academic Registrar, Quality Assurance , former and current student representatives as well as a professional from Uganda's electrical power sector.

The Vice Chancellor and I held a meeting with a team of researchers from Moi University, Kenya headed by Professor Simeon K Mining. We discussed initiatives made in areas of Phytochemicals, Textiles, and Renewable Energy and how to expand to other multidisciplinary areas.  A number of our staff have been trained under this collaboration, the VC on behalf of Busitema University expressed gratitude for the contributions towards staff development. 

The installation of Busitema University STEM Center started on March 19th 2023. We thank Mr. Richard Ring and his colleague from South Sudan together with our University technical did the installation.

I have been privileged to coordinate this project until its delivery and now installation. We are extremely grateful to STEMpower.org for this donation. “Inside every child is a scientist”

Today I hosted Mr. Caleb Ye and from SunMaker Energy Limited at Busitema University. Together with the team from the faculty of engineering lead by the Dean Eng. Dr. Otim we discussed areas of mutual interest especially collaboration in enhancing training in water engineering and management. Students and staff exchange with distinguished universities in China will be part of this project. This will result into an MOU and as one of the first item on the roadmap.

Attending the OWSD Early Career Fellowships Workshop in Trieste, Italy from My 29th 2023 to June 2nd, 2023.  I was privileged to be among the EC-OWSD winners of USD 50,000 grant award funded by IDRC through TWAS-UNESCO.
