The Directorate of Gender Mainstreaming at Busitema University recently conducted an enlightening career discussion for our final year students, presenting useful insights regarding life beyond the transcript. This programme, spearheaded by Ms. Bilabwa Betty from the Directorate of Gender Mainstreaming, was aimed at widen students' horizons beyond their academic achievements by providing them with the tools they need to excel in life outside the university walls.

In a heartwarming gathering on the evening of Thursday, August 31st, 2023, staff from Busitema University came together at Brand Masters to bid farewell to their esteemed colleague, Professor Kucel. The event was marked by exuberant celebrations, complete with a lavish spread of delectable food and beverages.

Professor Elly Sabiiti has been named Acting First Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs by the Chancellor of Busitema University. The decision comes after the completion of Professor Samuel Baker Kucel's required 10-year term in the same position.

The Faculty of Science and Education (FSE) at Busitema University kickstarted its academic year with a comprehensive Library Orientation program tailored for its incoming first-year students. The event, aimed at familiarizing students with the resources and protocols of the institution's library, commenced with a solemn prayer led by Mr. Omalla Wilberforce. The orientation proved to be an essential step in acquainting students with the academic tools at their disposal.

In a cordial address, the Academic Registrar extended a hearty welcome to all as the curtains rise on the 2023/2024 Academic Year, which officially commenced on the 12th of August, 2023. The dawn of this new academic chapter marks a significant moment for both the institution and its eager student body.

The outgoing Deputy Vice Chancellor, Assoc. Prof. Samuel Baker has handed over office to the Vice Chancellor. Assoc. Prof. Kucel has served as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs and Research for ten years starting from August 2013  to August 2023.
