In a thrilling football match that had spectators on the edge of their seats, Busitema University emerged victorious against Kampala International University, with a final score of 1-0. The lone goal that sealed the fate of the game was expertly executed by the talented Bukenya Simon in the 65th minute of the match.
The intensity on the field was palpable as both teams displayed remarkable skill and determination throughout the game. However, it was Busitema University that managed to break the deadlock, thanks to Bukenya Simon's exceptional performance.
In a day marked by anticipation and optimism, a total of eight candidates who successfully navigated the initial stages of the shortlisting process convened to vie for the coveted positions of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance and Administration) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs). These esteemed individuals engaged in the rigorous third-level shortlisting process, aimed at identifying the most capable and qualified candidates to assume these pivotal roles within the institution.
Kabale University played host to the 15th Annual Deans of Students and Guild Leaders’ Conference, where academic leaders and student representatives from universities across Uganda joined forces to address the pressing issue of youth unemployment. The conference, held from September 20th to 23rd, 2023, brought together voices from both public and private higher education institutions.
In a bid to enhance livelihoods and foster a deeper understanding of Data Science and Interdisciplinary Research in Uganda, the "DSA Uganda Eastern" conference was convened at Busitema University, Tororo Campus. The Epi Fellows, under the IDEA Fellowship Programme (EDCTP-2: CSA2020E-3126) which is led by Busitema University have successfully organised and delivered on a 2 day conference on emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases as part of their training, engagement with academia, scientists, policy makers and international organisations. Professor Peter Olupot-Olupot is the coordinator of the IDEA Fellowship Programme and the Patron of the annual conferences under this programme.It is the first such annual conference organised under Busitema University.
Thursday 14 th September, 2023 at Grand Global Hotel-Kampala, Associate Professor Joseph K.B. Matovu (Principal Investigator- PI) from the Faculty of Health Sciences – Mbale, disseminated his research findings under the research project titled: PEST4MEN. The workshop theme was: An Intervention to Reach Men in The Fishing

Busitema University proudly participated in the Ongoing Sage Uganda Workshop, which was held at Makerere University from September 4th to 8th, 2023, in a spectacular display of devotion to gender equality and academic collaboration. The event, which was co-organized by numerous notable institutions, including Makerere University,Busitema University aims to bring together African mathematicians in order to stimulate collaboration, motivate students, and promote women in mathematics.
On the 19th of August 2023, the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environmental Science marked yet another significant milestone as it warmly welcomed a new cohort of graduate students at the Jinja Study Center. This auspicious event saw the orientation of 25 eager and promising students into the academic fold of the University.
