In a signicant step to strengthen our global  collaboration, representatives from Busitema University's Faculty of Engineering and Technology, including Dr. Daniel Otim, the Dean of the faculty, and Eng. Dr. Joseph Ddumba Lwanyaga, the Head of the Water Resources Engineering Department, yesterday met with a delegation from Shangdong Water Conservancy, China.

Busitema University's six lively campuses, namely Busitema, Mbale, Nagongera, Namasagali, Arapai, and Palissa, recently came together for a series of exhilarating inter-campus games in a remarkable exhibition of talent and sportsmanship. Students from varied academic backgrounds competed in a variety of sports, including football, woodball, volleyball, and handball, among others, at the games.

Busitema University has held a collaboration engagement meeting with Vanke School of Public Health(VSPH), Tshingua University - China with the aim of building high-standard Public Health training in Uganda and the world at large. The Busitema University Delegation was welcomed by the Associate Dean of VSPH Professor Kaibo Wang, together with Professor Guangio Li, Jiaxuan Yang, Shasha Tao & Yuran Cao.

Busitema University has signed an MOU with Chongqing Medical and Pharmaceutical College(CQMPC) in Chongqing, China. Vice Chancellor Professor Paul Waako signed on behalf of Busitema University and University President Professor Liu Yongsheng signed on behalf of CQMPC.

In a significant step towards enhancing global collaboration and improving medical education standards, Busitema University Vice Chancellor Prof. Paul Waako led a delegation to visit Chongqing Medical and Pharmaceutical College. The purpose of this visit was to foster partnerships in medical training and to exchange valuable insights in the field of Medical education.

The Parliamentary Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation has today 19 October 2023 visited  the Mbale Clinical Research Institute (MCRI).The lawmakers were on a supervisory visit to acquaint themselves with the institute's cutting-edge research projects. The visit Portrays  the important role that MCRI, operating under Busitema University, plays in the growth of science and medicine.

To promote cooperative training programs in water resources management, Busitema University and Shandong Water Conservancy College have formed a major collaboration. In a formal ceremony, the cooperation agreement was signed by Prof. Ying Jingtao of Shandong Water Conservancy College and Prof.

The Parliament of Uganda’s Committee on Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) led by the Deputy Chairperson, Hon. Dr. Asiimwe Florence Akiiki on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, visited the University in their routine oversight role to monitor the implementation and utilisation of research and innovation funds the government of Uganda appropriated. The team has appreciated the level of research programs at Busitema University and how the University has used funding given for research and innovations, and the funds for the Presidential Scientific Initiative on Epidemics.

In a bid to guide and inspire the next generation of students, Busitema University took center stage at Buddo Secondary School's annual career fair. The event witnessed the active participation of esteemed University officials from the Academic Registrar's Office and the Directorate of Institutional, namely Ms. Nakaye Alice and Dr. Muwesi Charles, respectively. They presented a dynamic showcase of Busitema University's prestigious academic programs, spanning various fields, including Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, Education, and Agriculture.

The Top Management of Busitema University, led by the Vice Chancellor,Professor Paul Waako Yesterday welcomed SSP Turyahabwe Asanasio as the University's new Chief Security Officer. SSP Turyahabwe brings an unwavering dedication to building a secure academic environment, with the main duty of protecting the safety and security of the University staff, physical assets, and all its properties.
